The scientific activity of LCTS is organized around four main themes which are highly important in materials sciences :
• processing : synthesis of new materials , study of the processes
• characterisation : morphological, structural and chemical, at all scales
• behavior tests : thermal, mechanical, chemical
• modeling : virtual materials and processes
